Personally I think it is shameful and a sign of bad upbringing when human beings in 1st world, advanced countries claim to "hate life".
As an immigrant who grew up without running water/electricity and suffered some actual illnesses like malaria, I can barely relate to the "problems" most of my colleagues and neighbors in sunny CA seem to have.
Just being honest, I think they're misguided and usually annoying to be around any longer than a brief interaction. Anyone who actually chooses to do something about their situation, even if they fail, are much better people to be around. How can we rally all the sad people in the 1st world to channel their negativity into something positive? Like instead of going on twitter rants, they could actually form companies to tackle unethical supply chains.
we lived shitty lives for millions of years, but we kept going.
+ if you get cancer because of pollution, you're still sick, even if it's because of your environment, and we're still gonna treat you
same goes for hating your life, if you don't have the means to change the shitty environment making you sick(anxious, depressed...) we can at least put some mitigations in place
if I knew that I was about to die in 6 months, I would feed justified despair, but I'd still like a bunch of drugs and some support/therapy, to try to at least soothe the pain
If you want to explore the issue further play this game
Societies have differing answers to "am i allowed to decide my life sucks too much to live?"... the only answers to that question that matter ar those you and your loved ones have, imo.
