Which search engine do you recommend?

With Google under high HN criticism, which search engine do you recommend?

I've used DuckDuckGo (+ Lite), StartPage, Qwant, Searx and recently got accepted for the Kagi beta. While I kind of like all of them, I'm looking for privacy, thus I don't trust any U.S.-based provider. I believe only Qwant is European-based.
