Free Google Apps/ G-Suite/ Google Workspace is finally going away

So the free version of Google Apps is finally being retired. I have a custom domain email address with the service.What are some free recommendations for email alternatives that still allow for a custom domain email suffix?

I'm moving over to Zoho. They have quite reasonably priced plans...and i think their free offering also allows custom domain, but not 100% sure. I myself will no longer use any free service like gmail, yahoo, etc. for anything as important as email.
