Is there anywhere to buy a Raspberry Pi 3 or 4 at a “normal” price now?

I'm seeing scalper sell the raspberry pi4 2GB which is $45 MSRP for $130 now... The electronics manufacturing shortage/supply chain problems seem to have hit all series of raspberry pi quite hard.

You have to think outside of the box. buy it from UK and ship it to US. Here you go https://thepihut.com/products/raspberry-pi-4-model-b?variant...

this is via official rasp pi distributor per https://www.raspberrypi.com/products/raspberry-pi-4-model-b/ website

I just ordered one for $57.26, which includes shipping.

Do you need a Pi specifically? A used usff sized box with a 4th or 6th gen Intel CPU can be found for under $100 if you poke around ebay.

It'll be a much faster CPU, much faster storage, more RAM, and only uses about 5-10W of power.

I don't see the point of a Pi unless you need all the GPIO pins.

Are you near a microcenter? They tend to have them, store only, and limit the number you can buy, so they don't all disappear.

Used market seems unaffected. I own several, but can always get more whenever I look locally. Those sold on used market are almost always new anyway. :)

Sign up for stock availability at the major resellers and act fast. If you miss a batch, you will likely need to set up the notification again (at least for Adafruit and Sparkfun).

I’ve been buying for a class I’ll teach in the Spring since it’ll be impractical for students to buy their own. I’m currently picking up 1-3 per week (with a little help from some friends) Spending a lot more on shipping with per customer limits, but better than what the scalpers are charging.

Thepihut is also a good suggestion, though shipping a few of these from UK to US has been taken 3-4 weeks for me.

Orange Pi's seem to be available at normal prices.

Problem is that people are buying them cheap when they can find them and flipping them for higher, then everyone follows including the manufacturer that wants a cut of the 1000% markup.
