Do Google recruiters keep contacting you?

I've had monthly or sometimes bi-monhtly emails and even text messages to my personal phone number from recruiters at Google about open roles over the last 9 months and it's annoying af. I would never be hired there for many reasons nor do I want to interview with them. Is this just for developer sentiment to get an idea of what devs out there are thinking of their brand? What's your experience been with Google recruiters randomly reaching out?

They seem extra thirsty.

This was few years back when I was working for a leading semico. The semico was trying to get into mobile business. I was hired in their relatively new mobile business division to work on software. After a year or two, the semico failed to get into the mobile business. So internally the team was dispersed into various other divisions. I was working remotely(though from company office; yes, this sounds oxymoron I know. But did I mention I was working for a very big company :) ) at that time. So obviously there was some question mark hanging over my head on what should I do next. After a few days of this internal reshuffling at the company, I observed a Google recruiter viewed my LinkedIn profile. The recruiter was from Japan. I am located in Europe. The next day, I saw that another recruiter from Google viewed by LinkedIn profile. This time the recruiter was from Brazil. Over the next few weeks Google recruiters from various offices across the world(except from the country where I am located) were looking at my LinkedIn profile. And finally after a few weeks a Google recruiter from my country emailed me asking me whether I would be interested in joining Google. I replied her back asking her what job are they recruiting for. And she replied, "Google does not work this way. Once a candidate is selected, the candidate chooses where s/he wants to work. It will be upto you to decide what you want to work on and where you want to work. We do not have a specific job spec for you."

This brought back memories of few years prior to that when similar thing happened to me with Microsoft. It was even more enlightening on how aggressive these companies are with recruitment.

I interviewed at Google. I passed the phone interview. I did an in-person interview. They told me I was "not a good culture fit" (i.e. I'm too old but they can't say that).

Then they contacted me a few months later and asked for another interview. I said no.

Then they contacted me a few months later, again I said no. I asked them to put a note in my file and exclude me from further contact. So far, that seems to have worked.

Well, Google doesn't contact me for opportunities, but with that said I came across this Tweet today. Maybe this poster is working at Google?

No, they know I am (1) too old, and (2) too opinionated.
