How important is online pseudonymity to you?
I'm a developer active on Twitter, and have a Substack, both under my real first name.
I'm beginning to feel that the benefits of pseudonymity far outweigh the costs. Thoughts?
I’d reverse the question: for what purposes is there a benefit to you, of giving away any information about yourself to unknown people?
pseudonymity != anonymity, and, it's not too important to me, it may provide some plausible deniability in non-serious situations, other than that, I just like my nick name, and it makes me feel like part of the Internet (notice that oldskool capital i) culture.
What benefits and what costs are you talking about, mainly?
