Do all phones have access to Latin/Roman chars?

Just curious how ubiquitous access to the letters a-z are on phones around the world for an authentication system I am working on.Can an android user with a thai or vietnamese keyboard easily access a-z?

The phone itself might have access to the a-z, but the people using the phone might not be comfortable using it, or even being able to recognise it.They could be as comfortable with the a-z as westerners being comfortable using (say) Arabic script would be.

I don't know of any modern smartphone that doesn't use Unicode.
