Has anyone else been affected by the MacBook Pro shortage?
There were some articles about the shortage in the media in Oct/Nov but right now you can't buy a MacBook pro anywhere in the UK. All the usual retailers (Apple, Argos, John Lewis, PC world etc.) don't have any in stock.
Anyone else been affected by this/know what is going on (beyond what just chip shortages)?

Supply vs demand.
I can still find MBP configs in stock in the US. And ordering one from Apple is "only" 3-4 weeks out, which isn't surprising, given the holiday season and the fact they just came out.
There's no notice that anything is out of stock there at the moment unless I am missing something?
I wonder how many companies are bulk ordering M1s for their employees? And how much that is a factor in shortages?
No, just a few weeks ago I was able to walk into an Apple store and buy one that day to take home. Perhaps you're only looking online or don't have an Apple store near you, that might make it much harder.
I have a bunch of devs on my team who want an M1 because of the ~6 minute build time savings, but we can barely supply them for new hires and replacements.
I a few weeks ago I walked into a Costco and bought an M1 Pro with no problem.
Yes, I bought a 16 inch, when I only needed the 14 inch version.
