If I want to support a news website, which one I should support?

We don't have to be certain I guess. Which one you think is doing a better job and not trying to push a certain view?

All news has a bias, even if it's just in deciding what to cover. So the answer will always depend on what you want to support, either because you think it's underrepresented or just that it's doing a good job.

Regarding not pushing a certain view, common wisdom is that outlets with more analysis are more biased (eg NYT), while those that strictly report facts are less so (Reuters). So if that's really your criteria, you could support a news service.

I did some digging a while ago and heard good things about Christian Science Monitor, I wanted to subscribe to try them out but they only let you sign up for an automatic renewal you have to call and cancel, so I don't actually know if they are any good.

Another answer I have yet to really explore: find some independents on substack or elsewhere that you're interested in and support them directly

Support a local news outlet, without them the major news outlets would be dead in the water.

All news sites are biased to different extents either by design, corruption, ideology or by moles.

It is better to support something that you agree with.

your local news. Like local elections, the stories covered by local journalists are more likely to make an impact in your daily life. And they’d certainly value (and even need) your support more than the NYT would.
