How do you find an App you need?

I need a simple App, so I go to a search engine and type "app question and answer note-taking". These are the results I got:

- The Best Note-Taking Apps For Writers (2021): A Roundup

- 10 Best Note Taking Apps (With Alternatives...)

- The best note-taking apps for students

- 3 next-level note-taking apps that'll change the way you work

and on, and on...

Where are the actual Apps???? I don't want to read about the best, or the "10 best", or whatever generic list prepared for SEO. I want to see a list of the Apps that satisfy the criteria.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong. How do you find an App you need?

I use reddit unironically and few websites. The applications I use daily have few considerations, mainly privacy, security etc. I get my recommendations from https://www.privacytools.io https://www.privacyguides.org https://www.reclaimthenet.org https://www.restoreprivacy.com and a few other similar sites. Subreddits like https://www.teddit.net/r/privacytoolsio and https://teddit.net/r/privacyguides/ are helpful.

If I need a note-taking app, I visit the above sites. IIRC Standard Notes, Joplin, Simple Notes (by simple tools) are recommended.

If I require a basic application like PDF viewing, for which you may not get recommendations from websites, I go to above subreddits and simple search PDF viewer. Users would have discussed in detail about such an application, along with their pros and cons.
