What's your opinion about cloud based IDEs?
Recently there has been a lot of interesting cloud based IDE launches: Github Codespaces, JetBrains Fleet, AWS Cloud9 (this one has been around for a while). What's your opinion about these IDEs?
That is an awful lot of trust to place in a 3rd party with a profit motive. Look at all the services that have been dropped suddenly across the years.
Compiles happen in less than a second, why would you need to push that work out to the cloud?
I genuinely wonder how my node_modules would fit in my browser.
