People who visit /new, how do you prevent it from overwhelming you?
Edit: Post title originally said "Curators" in place of "People who visit". As this was causing some confusion, I edited it to make it more clear.
Not a curator (I upvote posts on /new but not sure if curator means more than that) I come to /new when I feel like leaving comments; the chance that my comment will be the first that many people see definitely makes me think a bit harder about what I write. To avoid getting overwhelmed, I press Ctrl-W.
Who are these "curators?" I'm looking at "new" all the time but its not a "job", its a high quality link feed. if some goes by i dindt see then i dont feel ive missed something important.
Put unkindly: there's numerous bullshit fountains to sip from. Don't think you need to consume all of any of them. Sample widely. The varied flavors are the best part of the experience.
If I feel it overwhelms me, I practice self-discipline and stop looking at it for a while.
AFAIK there are no "curators". Everyone can go and vote there when they have time. I do sometimes.
