Refurbed) Machine to Use as Linux Remote Server

Since Cyber Monday is coming, I wanted to find something like a desktop or a Intel-NUC equivalent to leave at home and use as remote machine to ssh into to run long code and play with Linux. Any suggestions? Thank you!
