What have you done to help with yearlong burnout?
Quit my job to take a contract where I could learn some new stuff, actually go into an office, but without getting emotionally invested so I could reevaluate what I want out of life and work on my health. I got this crazy idea that I want to go to space so I’m getting my pilots license, losing some weight, learning a bunch of astronomy, and I’m going to start looking for jobs in the space sector here in the next couple months.
Teaching. It was a way to give back and made me feel like my skill was legendary, as opposed to all the imposter syndrome you feel when working on an ambitious project for long periods of time.
I did take long breaks, vacations, spent momey, did nothing. None of these helped.
Alcohol :(
edit: oh wait, you said "help". i've got nothing.
Resolved to and and given up the idea of switching careers multiple times. Currently on a wave of the former.
