How often do you visit and what’s the use you do of “new” section at HN?

Somebody in /new needs to give questions the first upvote so they show up on https://news.ycombinator.com/ask Here's mine. I use /new more often than the frontpage and look out for serious offenses (spam mostly). Several times per day out of habit.

I read it when I've caught up with everything else... the high rate of [dead] and [flagged] entries shows me the level or crud Dang has to deal with, which makes me appreciate him even more.

I certainly check the "new" page more than I check the Front Page. FP is a twice a day affair and new is several times through out the day.
