Specialization may be bad if you're working in small startups - they need people who are jack of all trades in the early going.I'd generally follow your interests, work on things you're curious about, the rest will work itself out.

A cabin the woods sounds pretty good right now.I'm 10 years in and have yet to specialize. I would say specialize I'm whatever is interesting that you think has a future. There's web, backend/services, data engineering, ML/AI, and security to name a few.
