What do you think about .software domain TDL


We are a new software shop, and got 2 domains:

1: ourBizNameSoftware.com 2: ourBizName.software

Second one is much easier to type and remember but we are worried about trust and seo implications. HM, what do you think?

The problem with using the .software is you are now having to introduce two concepts: your business and .software.

Having the .com domain will come in handy, because you can measure how many people use it even if you only mention the .software, and you can switch to that when you get tired of trying to explain it.

I'd much rather have a gTLD that is not a .com or a country-code like .SO or others. There have been problems with startups trying to get back their ccTLD. Notion for example nearly lost notion.so because they had to prove they were residents there. So stick with generic ones like .app .click etc

Also: .club domains were famously down for a few days, so pay attention to that. .ORG is another one worth trying, but mostly non-profits use that (but you are free to setup a .ORG business site if you want)
