Where do you find part time jobs?

10-20 hours per week, max. Already aware of places like Upwork, don't want to go there.

Any other hidden gems you are aware of?

Find a Bootcamp looking for "mentors" in your field. Don't be afraid of you are not an "expert". You can learn as you teach the curriculum. Just stay ahead of your students. I learned a ton this way.

Call yourself a consultant or freelancer, and make it clear you're looking for part time clients.

I generally do either 20 hours/week (billed monthly), or per project billing (which can be as many or as few hours as you want).

As for actually finding the work, start with people you know and let them know you're looking for a client for 10-20 hours per week; if no one is hiring directly, ask for intros to anyone they might know who might be looking.

Another thing you can do is contact small to medium consultancies in your area and mention that you have 10-20 hours of time if they have any projects they want to sub-contract; that works pretty well usually.

If you are working full time now ask your manager if you can go part time. If no then ask if you can do 4 days. If no ask if you can take unpaid leave so you get more annual leave.

Other than that you can ask recruiters of full time positions if they know of anything part time - if they like your cv they might go to bat for you to get you in somewhere part time that wasn’t originally intended to be.

It has been a while (2018) but I found my part time job on Dice.com. It was great while it lasted for approx 2 years
