What physical newspaper should I get?

I'm tired of the endless scrolling through online news. It's mostly the same news day to day anyway. I've heard people are having success with getting a weekly physical newspaper or magazine instead.

What newspaper should I get? I'm in the US.

I did a "test drive" of newspapers at my local library (where they had a copy of each one). A couple thoughts:

- Seems like you might want to try a local newspaper. (Part of the charm of a newspaper is getting equal doses of world, national, and local news.)

- I think it's generally understood that the top papers in the U.S. are the New York Times and the Washington Post. The Post will have a little more political coverage/analysis -- often high-quality, but if you're trying to avoid that, I'd say the New York Times has a few more stories on things like business and culture.

Another option is the Los Angeles Times, which gives you more California/west coast news (and a bit more on the entertainment industry, but also environmental issues).

I guess just keep trying until you find one you like! (For a good international paper, there's the Financial Times.) If you're going to spring for a print magazine, the Foreign Affairs is said to be a high-quality international publication.
