How to instruct builders for future proofing networking in new house?

I've purchased a new construction and have some choices in allowances but limited timeline.

This is my first purchase and I'm not a networking expert by any stretch. My intention is to ask for any changes now that will help ease the difficulty of future upgrades, at least ten years if not longer.

I've asked for the electricians to install flexible 1" conduit from the attic to each room, for future fishline work. They had installed CAT5 throughout most of the rooms, and they've upgraded from to CAT6a at my request. But I have no clue what I'm doing.

Where should I go to learn more? Any basic tips or best practices? They will be foam spraying in a few days so I'm on a bit of a deadline to brush up, not concerned with budget or all the bells and whistles as I am making future upgrades easier or possible.

Thanks !
