Amazon Prime for the fast-delivery and other shopping perks (Prime discount on books).
Disney Plus for the Marvel content.
Spotify: This is probably the best bang for the buck. We use this every single day.
Netflix: The only streaming service that actually has quality shows and decent recommendations.
Rant: Prime Video UI is embarrassingly bad compared to Netflix, and it feels like they stopped all production of any interesting show because of COVID. I'm still looking forward to the Expanse (December?) and Mrs. Maisal (in 50 years?).
We had HBO Max at one point. I can't get into any of the shows at the moment. We really liked Barry, which it seems they've put the next season on hold indefinitely. Raised by Wolves was good... but again, who knows when the next season will come.
For me, 3-4 services is the most I'll consider anyway.
Youtube Music: One of the worst products I use but better than the alternatives. I used to use Google Play Music but it got shutdown in favor of Youtube Music which still has not yet reached feature parity with the product that was destroyed (neither has Spotify in my opinion). One nice thing about Youtube music is that it also gets rid of ads on Youtube.
Generic stuff:
- Apple One
- Amazon Prime
- Now TV (sports broadcast)
Weirdly specific nonsense:
- manatraders.com
- I hate smartphones because I'm a lowlife with zero force of will, so I keep a spare phone connected to a web server to send myself notifications via SMS to my dumbphone. There are cheap unlimited SMS plans at 4 euros/month that are more than enough for my use case.
I prefer one-time payment when possible (as a client, of course..)
I paid yearly for the following: Bear - Drafts - PDF Viewer - 1Password - Playstation Plus - Banktivity - Email and Domains
