Are you seeing a lot more engagement bait comments from friends on FB?
It seems like I see a lot more comments from friends on engagement-bait posts like "name a city ending in m" or some-such. Anyone else seeing this / have an idea why? Prepared to believe these drive commenters' engagement, but find it hard to believe these move any metrics positively for people just seeing the friends' comments.
I see a few of them per day (e.g. "I bet you can't find a word starting and ending with T"). When a friend comments on them they show up in my feed. I imagine that a small percentage click through to the page to see what other content is there. Considering the low bar to create such trivial content, whatever traffic it generates is worth it.
I've always viewed fb through a browser tab and to use Messenger I change the browser to desktop mode. A couple of months ago, fb started saying something like "You have a message waiting from..." with the profile of a friend - except there isn't actually a message. Totally shady.
