How does Twitter do SEO if their site renders using JavaScript

Question

If you try too visit twitter.com with Javascript disabled, you will get a error. If Twitter can't render, how does Google index it? I know Google most probably renders JS pages as well but let's imagine it doesn't. How would then Twitter be indexed??

Another point is a lot of the big sites don't even bother with SEO (or standards for that matter) when they get that big.
