Find Lost Blogs/HN Threads

I'm starting a monthly thread where people can find HN Threads they lost.

Often we lose Blogs/HN Threads because we forgot to bookmark them or for any other reason. You can post description about the threads here. Other people can try to help the author find the articles. Additionally, Since people forget most of the things they read but they still remember ( or are trying to remember) the posts mentioned here, the posts are bound to be very interesting.

Tips on what you can/should mention while trying to find a thread -

1. Add a vague Timeline when it was written/posted here. 2. If you remember anything about the author, mention it. 3. You can mention what kind of discussions happened in HN Threads of the topic. 4. Write whatever you remember about the blog.

I'm submitting the threads I want to find below as an example.

1. It was posted approximately 6 months ago. The Blog starts with talking about how Funds use full-time brokers instead of discount brokers because the cost of brokerage is passed down to the consumer. In return, the Funds gets Kickback. Specifically the author says that his team needed new laptops. So, instead of buying new laptops , he moved from Discount to Full time broker who costs 100x more. Also, on side, the broker has an empty building and new laptops which the author's team can use. The author calls this soft money. In Next Phase, author talks about how every Fund creates hundreds of schemes and then name top performing ones as "growth fund" and move other funds there.

2. This was also posted 6-8 months ago. Scientists create a machine in which light always goes off 1 sec before we press a button. The mechanism was that when the button is pressed, it travels back in time for 1 sec and turns on the light. By this experiment, people slowly realized that their actions are not their own and started going into Coma like stillness. The author was asian version of Nick bostrom.
