Shared Hosting Recommendations


I'm looking for an old school reliable, low cost, shared hosting provider for simple projects and websites. (with WordPress supporting, ie LAMP, LEMP) There's so many companies out there, and I have my own biases and experiences with many of them... I'm wondering what the crowd here recommends.

No, I'm not looking for a $5 VPS, I don't want to bother with managing and maintaining a server, I'd rather just have a turnkey solution where I can set up domains or subdomains as needed without having to maintain a server myself.

I've been hosting with Cooini (formerly U2-Web) for 11 years. I run a few sites through them currently (nothing too heavy anymore. One was a web crawler project that could get pretty intense, though I've had no real issues with it when it was at its peak). Cooini have been updating some of their services and offerings, though the old ones are still in place as well. For example, they added the Plesk control panel, but also still have cPanel if you want a really old school feel. They're also very affordable.

Their support staff has been incredibly responsive and helpful over the years. Not that I've needed to contact them very often, but I remember posting tickets late at night only to see them resolved within a couple of hours.

They have some help articles for getting started with setting up WordPress, Let's Encrypt, and even choosing the PHP version.
