Is it SV culture, or tech in general that is entitled?

From my perspective, I do not have the experience of working with startups or "Engaging" tech-focused work. Yet many times do I see an article or blog get posted here that is about substandard work conditions.

Employee metrics based on internal commune engagement; activity that is monitored to judge payroll worthiness; Ensuring profitability based on how many times you say "yes." Is this normal for tech in the 21st century, or just the culture of a select few, yet noticeable, companies?

Can you define what you mean by entitled?

I'm not sure it is entirely clear what you mean by entitled based on the text above.

Comparing New York, the midwest, the south, and SV, it's mostly SV that is entitled. NY has this to some extent (finance) too
