I had from chronic sleep problems since my childhood. The earliest I remember myself being unable to sleep for 2-3 hours was at the age of 8 or 9 I believe.
I am passing my thirty now, and I only remember it was really few times in my adult life when I had good sleep for more than a few month in a row.
Anybody else here having lifelong sleep issues?
At times I thought I was a bad sleeper.
I got Gabapentin as an add-on to Sertraline for social anxiety. I don't know if it really helped with the anxiety but ever since then my sleep has been perfect almost every night. I quit taking the Sertraline but still take the Gabapentin.
I cannot take proton pump inhibitors for heartburn (e.g. Omeprazole) because if I do I will lay in bed awake all night. I can tolerate other acid reducers (say Famotidine) just fine. I don't see insomnia listed as a side effect for PPIs but it is a side effect for me.
