Why are most alternate browsers based on Chromium instead of Firefox?
Almost every 'alternate' browser in the market (Vivaldi, Brave, UG Chromium, Edge, Opera,...) is based on a fork of Chromium. Compare that with Firefox and I can only find few examples like Librewolf and the likes. Why are devs so eager to fork Chromium but not Firefox?
Just a supposition:
Perhaps because those massive code bases are in one case maintained by one of the largest organizations on Earth, while in the other case they are maintained by a SME?
