Which Static Site Generators have the best theme architecture?
I am adding Theming to Scroll (https://scroll.pub/) and looking to learn from the static site generators that do it best.
There are the well known ones like Jekyll and Hugo, but also more than 450 others (https://staticsitegenerators.net/)
Which ones should I look at?
In my system, templates are contained in config tree. I avoid unnecessary restriction, and allow a theme to override any config setting, not just templates. As a bonus, you can stack themes on top of each other. :)
I've gotten good seo results with Hugo themes
Creating a new theme for Pelican wasn't too hard; even when I wanted to do some silly things with it.
