Inline Code for HN Comments?


I know HN tech moves slow on purpose. But this feature (enclosing inline code in backticks) feels like a net positive on other platforms like github and slack. I also mean nothing fancy, maybe just adding a darker background for inline code with some simple stupid css?

The current code sections in monospace font, e.g. in https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=27773229 , look readable to me. But I don't see many discussions that use code in comments. https://news.ycombinator.com/formatdoc
