(Meta) What causes all of a user's posts to go dead?

They're banned, probably due to submitting crackpot links.

It looks like this account is trying to engage the community in good faith and every post and comment seems to go quickly dead?

I've only seen this on brand new accounts, but this person has been shouting into the void for at least 7 years.
