Does anybody in America surf the web in Spanish?

I thought there would be more sites offering Spanish if my browser's default/preferred langauge was Spanish, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

Even in the case of CNN -- no bueno.

To see some Spanish on CNN, I had to choose to go to 'CNN International' first, then choose the 'Espanol' value from their own langauge dropdown menu.

I thought Coke, Pepsi, MS, etc. would go Spanish from the jump, but it doesn't seem so in my rudimentary testing.

Incognito windows. I'm in Phoenix.

Hotels.com did seem to offer Spanish out of the box -- they are the exception.

I know (?) many/most Spanish speakers in America can read at least a bit of English, but...do they/you have to do any special configuration to read in Spanish, or does Google eventually determine they/you prefer Spanish, or maybe they/you just ride English..??

Some sites do the right thing and use the browser user agent to guess your language, but most either geolocate the IP or don't care at all.

I mostly read in English, unless I go to a website from my home country… Which will render in Spanish, ignoring my browser configuration :)

According to my logs there are quite a lot users from the US having set Spanish as their default language.
