What's an energy efficient way to teleconference?


In modern remote work times, people have a lot of teleconferences and according to [1] telecom industry power usage increased a lot, and it's a significant contributor to CO2 emissions. So what software or hardware or process you thinks is more efficient?

I doubt you'll be able to know the differences in energy usage between the large teleconferencing platforms without a lot of internal knowledge of how the platforms work, how the networking protocols work, what hardware they use, etc.

However some of these companies publicly communicate that they're using only renewable energy sources -- if that's the case, the whole operation (except for the client side of course) is CO2 neutral.

Spend less time (& thereby less energy) using telecom networks for entertainment. Entertainment is mostly wastage. Work is mostly productive.
