HACKER Q&A

Am I the baddy? (no I am not)

Why is it a near impossible task to setup a new Windows computer with standard applications that protect user privacy (Firefox being the easiest example here) without first giving away personal information or creating another fucking account that will either occupy headspace in perpetuity or devolve into an abscessed entry point?

As proof that no one with any intelligence at Microsoft thought this through... I can't even install a downloaded Windows 10 upgrade without first signing into a Microsoft account because it's running in Windows 'S' Mode which can't be disabled without first signing into a Microsoft account and Windows 'S' Mode (for security and performance reasons) won't install the Windows 10 upgrade because it only runs Microsoft-verified apps.

Disconnect internet, and create a local account. I feel the pain.
