What cutting edge subject would woo you back to school?
I have worked for years in software and still find plenty of interest there but I’m looking forward 10 years and pondering. It would be fun to retrain in an emerging discipline with commercial applications and make earlyish contributions. Space mining for instance perks my interest. What cutting edge subjects do you think will ripen over the next decade that would woo you to go back to school and make a career change?

If there was significant public investment in space exploration, then at 40 you could convince me to try to become an astronaut ;). OTOH they probably need software engineers and data scientists, and I have kids, so I’d probably stay earthbound.
