My buddy opted for an electric scooter. He rides 3 miles in and 3 miles back. It's actually quite pleasant i have come to learn after borrowing it. But it was disappointing to note that while our modest Idaho town had an EV installation, he was still forced to rely on plug-ins at a coffee shop if he forgot to charge, or if he decided to make a day of it. Think it has a 24 mile range for what it's worth.
I do see more and more gasoline and electric bikes these days, far far more electric but some pretty slick and quiet gas units.
