Communication skills required for a software engineer
My communication skills are very poor. I have a hard time communicating what I am thinking in a coherent way. When I communicate verbally, I usually end up rambling and jumping all over the place. My written communication is better but it takes me a lot longer than my peers to pull together my thoughts.
I am interesting in working in FAANG or another large tech company but I fear my communication skills will hold me back.
I also suffer from anxiety and generally lack confidence.
Nobody communicates at their best or perceives everything correctly when they're anxious and feeling like an imposter. Based on what you have written here I would not conclude that you are inherently a bad or slow communicator. I wouldn't even assume that you're coming off that way to other people. I hope you can get some relief from the anxiety and feelings of inadequacy.
