What is up with Zoom permissions for Google integration?

Zoom for G Suite wants to access your Google Account

This will allow Zoom for G Suite to:

  See and download your contacts
  Edit the events you open in Google Calendar
  See the events you open in Google Calendar
  Run as a Calendar add-on
  View your Calendar settings
  View and edit events on all your calendars
  Manage drafts and send emails when you interact with the add-on
  View your email messages when the add-on is running
  Run as a Gmail add-on
  See and download your organization's GSuite directory
  Connect to an external service
  Allow this application to run when you are not present
