What are some methods to encourage people to move to Signal

A lot of people in my country and especially my friend circle use WhatsApp, where I've witnessed them become addicted to the app because of its status feature. Also I have noticed that my friends admit to being addicted to WhatsApp (because of the 24 hours status thing) and they want to switch but say that since other people only use WhatsApp its hard for them to switch.
