What % of your salary would you give back to not return to the office?

If you're already permanently remote, good for you.

But if you're only remote because of covid, and you are already being summoned back to the office, or warned that it is coming, what would you pay to be able to be 100% remote forever in this job?

$0. Why would I take less? If anything, the employer could pay more because they could downsize or eliminate the office.

Nothing since I'm absolutely, definitely more productive in the office than I could ever be at home.

The best way forward for folks who don't want to go back to an office setting is start looking for a remote job. When you're having your exit interview, let them know why you're leaving and the fact that they weren't willing to be flexible. If it happens enough they'll get the hint real quick that change is necessary.

I've worked remote-only for over a decade. I would want a big raise to go back to sitting in a cube farm all day.
