How to build trust for your Application

Hi everyone,

Does you guys have face a problem that you have launch the product. And users is non-stop questioning is it safe to use? Is it safe to my data?

How can you solve that problem and build trust for users?

The easiest way is don't collect or store user data.

If you have to collect or store data because the space you are in, charge a meaningful amount of money so it is clear that charging users money is the way you plan to make money. And clear that selling data is not the most likely way you will make money.

Complaints about data are complaints about price.

If you are getting complaints about data, then you are better off charging money because money is much better than data. You can always buy data. You can't always sell it.

1. Write down what you're doing, so that you can send a link when ppl are asking.

2. Collect the minimum possible data, explain what/why you collect, if possible explain how it's stored

3. Open source is a good way to make huge leaps forward with trust

(In general I agree with others, if you can give a bit more concrete examples of what's going on, maybe we can provide more direct feedback.)

It depends on the type of data. If you are collecting only the necessary data to provide value to the user (e.g. ask for GPS access for a mapping app), then you can assure the user that data is collected in order to provide the service and be clear about what you will do with it (e.g. aggregate it for analytics purposes, but not in an identifiable way, but not sell that info to advertisers). You may have to comply with CCPA or GDPR so that may guide you as well.
