The new effort looks like it could have easily been a value add to our product. Still new management seems to have imagined the greenfield product as a centerpiece, with everything else complementing it. Rumor has it there is a long way to go before it's ready for the full load and all clients. But company meetings include high praise any progress it makes.
Scope of this new darling has also grown much closer to our wheelhouse, from about 20% overlap to 40%. Mid to long-term roadmaps have been sparse to nonexistent.
Meanwhile our team has gradually reduced in size as talent has left and hasn't been fully backfilled. Despite a great year for SAAS profits my team's comp remains less competitive, and new management seems to prefer overseas engineering talent.
