Is Google translation tool inlined in Google search broken on Firefox?

It looks like the behavior is broken/different compared to chrome

  > google "translate" to open translation tool in google (https://www.google.com/search?q=translate)
  > type "test" on the left text box 
  > press enter

at this point firefox and chrome behaves differently. firefox is stuck in a state that you can no longer edit the textbox (the text is now gray and not editable. there is an X button which just removes the text but does not allow you to enter a new one)

Chrome behaves correctly. It just adds a newline. you can delete the text and enter a new one if you want. You can add more lines to translate or delete old ones (which was the behavior in firefox as well)

I used private windows (to disable my addons) and same buggy behavior

I tried reporting to firefox and google but google asks me a "component" which I don't know what it would be and autocomplete does not help. firefox "give feedback" page seem to be down
