Is “GitHub, f*ck your name change” being suppressed?
"GitHub, f*ck your name change" https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=26487854 currently has 3113 points (highest voted I've seen in a long time) and is only 16 hours old, however it is on page 2, why is this? Maybe because of the title?
HN deranks posts when the comment/vote ratio gets higher, because a high number of comments usually indicates flamewarring. For better or worse, this is applied to everything; no, this particular post is not being suppressed, there have been more incendiary titles sitting for longer on the front page.
It was right on top of the front page yesterday. Probably just aging to allow new posts to show up.
