Why do pop-ups not work?
Hey HN, the last few weeks I have been researching and testing a pop-up with my website and 53 out of 50 people close it immediately without even reading it. Why it doesn't work?
Because no one goes to your site to subscribe to a newsletter or read a pop-up advertisement. They just want the article they were promised by the link.
Quickly closing pop-ups and cookie notices is the cost of browsing the internet in 2021.
Because it's rude, like a poke in the eye with a stick.
