Improving social media with lessons from figure skating?
In international figure skating competition, typically the highest and lowest scores are purged from the official score. Could this possibly be a solution to the radical, polarized minority on both sides driving the current narrative? Based on likes/unlikes by a given user affecting their weight in the "algorithm"?
Unfortunately I believe that this is already being weighed by the "algorithm" but sadly the counter weight of engagement is driving us down in a spiral eventually resulting in the lowest common predictable denominator.
