Who would recommend coding on a bean bag?

Who spends chunks of their day coding on a beanbag instead of a standing desk? Would you recommend it? Pros? Cons?

I'm very glad I was forced by law to take a work safety class on my first job.

I've learned a lot about the risks and injuries that can come by using improper equipment, even for desk job like coding etc.

Don't underestimate these things. Get proper stuff. Get a proper desk (that can be raised into a standing desk if you're into that kind of things) and a proper display.

People, there's a reason of dell/Lenovo make business-class hardware as a line of products separated from consumer-grade hardware.

It might not seem much today, but in 5-10 years you might have serious health problems.

Edit: forgot to reply to the original question. Just throw the bean bag into the dumpster, that's where it belongs.

You know how people, when interested in something, will lean forward, even if that doesn't really change anything about their ability to see what it is they are interested in?

I believe reclining convinces your brain that you are ready to sleep, or at least relax, which means it is not in that "activated interested" mode any more than you could be when lying in bed or on the beach.

There is a difference in productivity between passive and active interest, so you should be able to use the feedback loop to your advantage. Remember all those teachers begging you to stop slouching? It's that.

It's similar to forcing yourself to smile, until you actually start to feel a little happier. Your body not only gives off clues of your internal state, but your brain also takes clues for what your internal state should be.

If you are letting your body kick back and slack off, what is your brain to perceive about the work at hand?

I dunno, I find it impossible to concentrate in the prostrate position. My head needs to be above or forward of my pelvis in order to defecate, study, or code. That wasn't the case when I was a kid.

I were also not using the proper equipment and then I got severe muscular pain. So I recommend you to use the proper setup.
