Will Ethereum 2 lead to geographically well distributed mining?

As far as I know, currently most mining happens in China because of lower prices for electricity.With Ethereum 2, the power consumption will probably negligible, right? Does this mean we will see mining of Ethereum to take place in a geographically well distributed fashion?

Hard to say but I can see a lot of it being &ldquo;mined&rdquo; on super high availability cloud services probably AWS in the more popular regions. Reason being if you go offline you might forfeit your stake which is at least 32Eth or about $64k last time I checked
