How to get started in an Analog Design Engineering career

Particularly for someone coming from the software world

Almost certainly buy getting an EE degree. I’d imagine. Most technical fields are not like software where anyone on the street can be employable though self teaching. I won’t pretend to know anything about the intricacies and culture of hiring from other fields, but I’ve never heard of someone going from software->engineering and I’ve seen those threads a number of time.

You would need an electrical engineering degree, usually an advanced degree (master's is enough but PhD helps). It's a tight space.

You could also try getting into an analog design company and work on their software stack, but generally that would require embedded development skills at the least.
