* `site:` is basically the only way to search a public site for anything. Also, it's great for when you want to restrict searches to TLDs like `.edu` or `.gov`.

* Google calculator does units like a champ.

* Quotes around a word/words used to mean verbatim match, but for some reason they started allowing synonyms and other spellings to slip in.

* If a search result is slow to load, go back to Google and look for the cached version instead.

* Figure out how to phrase questions to get zero click answers. For example, if you want to know how old Ibram X Kendi is, instead of searching for his name do this: https://www.google.com/search?channel=fs&client=ubuntu&q=how... Another example: https://www.google.com/search?channel=fs&client=ubuntu&q=whe...

I don't know if it's a hack but I spent some time working for big four consultancies and would prep decks which needed logos with transparent backgrounds.

You can do a google search for '[company] logo' then click 'tools' then set 'colour' to 'transparent' and that will often throw the logo with a transparent background.
